

While no hard information about the board game's mechanics have been announced yet, Darkest Dungeon has revealed an impressive set of painted miniatures representing the game's classes. The video game's RNG-heavy madness and stress management system should translate handsomely to dice rolls or card draws, and it is easy to imagine how procedural dungeons could be captured via modular map tiles, similar to Betrayal at House on the Hill. The most crucial element Mythic Game's needs to capture, however, is the sense of dread and relentless pressure that establishes Darkest Dungeon as one of the hardest RPG's ever. All backer heroes come with one aggravated negative quirk and two locked positive quirks that are always the same for any unique hero name.
